The Kaua’i Community College front lawn will spring to life with gardeners, suppliers, garden lovers and consumers there to shop the wide variety of plants, landscape products and equipment, and to find out the latest gardening information and tips. Hosted by Kauai County Farm Bureau and University of Hawai’i College of Tropical Agriculture & Human Resources (CTAHR), the annual Kaua’i Garden Fair is one of the largest gatherings of green thumbs on Kaua’i and a great way to share the bounty of the island firsthand. This event is in its 17th year and continues to grow.

You can find us at the front corner of the Kaua’i Community Market every Saturday morning, rain or shine, in the KCC front parking lot from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The market features a wide variety of vendors not typically found at other farmers markets, and has become a place where neighbors can shop for food and the garden, where visitors can experience delicious local foods and “talk story” with farmers, and where we can all eat and learn more ways to cook and raise local ingredients. Special programs include education food demos, community guests, tours of the KCC organic garden and seasonal special events.

This Wednesday, October 26th, Kaua’i Culinary Market at The Shops at Kukui’ula features a special presentation and sampling with Moloa’a Bay Coffee and our friends at Kauai Roastery! Samples of our delicious locally grown Moloa’a Bay and Moloa’a Camp Coffees will be available.

We will be bringing our small coffee cherry pulper to demonstrate the pulping process using ripe coffee cherries from our farm. You’ll also get to learn about the different methods used to process the beans as well as the growing, roasting, and blending processes. We look forward to seeing you there!

Rusty’s Hawaiian 100% Ka‘u Coffee was named Grand Champion of Hawaiian Coffee for the second consecutive year.

Other district winners were Hawaii White Mountain LLC (Hamakua), Hilo Coffee Mill (Hawaii island), Moloa‘a Bay Coffee (Kauai), Greenwell Farms (Kona), Shim Coffee & Protea Farm (Maui), Coffees of Hawaii (Molokai) and Waialua Estate Coffee (Oahu).
